Kingsland Drinks has been an innovative drinks creator and supplier since 1955, with world
class capabilities in sourcing, sales, marketing, bottling, packing, warehousing, distribution and everything in between. Proudly employee owned, award-winning and committed to building a better society and drinks industry now and for future generations.
Our Thirsty Earth Sustainability Programme captures the three pillars of Environment, Society and Economy. Each of these pillars has goals and targets associated, to ensure we are accountable for delivering our targets.
We have objectives associated with the above pathways - these include, but are not limited to:
Carbon Footprint
Kingsland Drinks sources 100% UK renewable energy.
Kingsland has introduced a formal Energy Policy that outlines our commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050. We have also partnered with an accredited third‑party carbon
accounting provider to deliver independently verified Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions data.
As our electricity contract is 100% REGO certified, we are proudly able to announce that we are NetZero in Scope 2 emissions.
In collaboration with Australian wine brand, The Hidden Sea, we have helped to remove the
equivalent to over 35 million plastic bottles out of our oceans.
PET label-backing reels to be sent to a specialist facility, rather than sending them to energy
from waste and stretch film used on site has moved to 23µ with 30% recycled content.
Bags used for Bag-in-Box wines are now made of a recyclable (EVOH) polymer.
Following on from these changes, we are developing an internal framework to improve our
ability to carry out comparisons between current materials and potential materials to establish CO2 savings alongside cost savings.
100% of Kingsland’s company fleet vehicles are now mix of electric (74%) and hybrid (26%), and we have installed 22 EV chargers on site to encourage wider use of electric vehicles.
Energy efficient lighting has been installed in both production halls, between December 2024 to December 2025 this upgrade saw a saving of 87.25MWhs, or 15tCO2e; this upgrade was just one of the many we have made as part of our ESOS journey.
Kingsland Drinks installed 250Kw of solar panels on two of their largest warehouse roofs.
Working at peak output, the array annually saves in the region of 38 tonnes of CO2.
Successfully trialled and will be producing 75cl aluminium bottle and a super light 300g 75cl
glass bottle compared to industry average of 550g per bottle.

Looking ahead, what are the longer-term company goals?
Environment
We are actively exploring opportunities to further reduce our Scope 1 emissions, including the introduction of hydropower and natural‑source heat pumps to support low‑carbon heating and cooling processes.
Following the completion of our carbon accounting project, we will be well‑positioned to begin addressing our Scope 3 emissions. This next phase will focus on building a robust supplier engagement strategy, emphasising collaboration across our supply chain with the key objective of driving collective decarbonisation.
Economy

Questionnaire.
Extend the Supplier Sustainability Questionnaire outside of wine and ingredients supply, to
include packaging and freight suppliers.
