Wine producer - Marlborough, New Zealand
Lawson’s Dry Hills is the only NZ wine producer to have independent certifications for ISO14001 – Environmental Sustainability and ISO14064 – Carbon Zero.
We started our sustainability journey by joining Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand when it was launched in 1995. While this was a good start, we felt we could achieve more, so we embarked on the internationally recognised ISO14001 Environmental Management System and attained full, independent accreditation in 2011. Since then, we adopted ISO14064, reducing our greenhouse gas emissions even further, resulting in becoming a Toitū net carbonzero certified organisation in 2020.
Looking ahead, what are the longer-term company goals?
To continue meeting the requirements of the ISO certifications, we are independently audited for both on an annual basis. We therefore continuously manage the business with environmental sustainability at the forefront, from our vineyards through to the port of shipment.
